Once you have your home you are probably going to want to change it some. You may just wish to make it uniquely your own or need space for that new child on the way. Inside and out there are likely to be things you want to add, take away or alter.
Knowing about your home and its various components will help you to learn where areas of opportunity lie for your home improvement projects. A good place to start is by gathering all the information you can. Things like the model numbers for your water heater, oven, washer, dryer, heater and other appliances make good information to have at the ready, as do measurements for your windows, heater filters and other items.
Once you get to know your home consider the projects you might want to tackle and how you will manage it. Will it be a do it yourself home improvement projects or something you need to hire a contractor for? Make you sure you know how you will pay for it all when you plan projects. Price shop things that are expensive and check add flyers on things that are commonly on sale.
